About Us

Who We Are

Evangelical Covenant Church. The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) is a rapidly growing multiethnic denomination in the United States and Canada with ministries on five continents of the world. Founded in 1885 by Swedish Immigrants, the ECC values the Bible as the word of God, the gift of God’s grace and ever-deepening spiritual life that comes through faith in Jesus Christ, and the importance of extending God’s love and compassion to a hurting world.

The Evangelical Covenant Church is evangelical but not exclusive, biblical but not doctrinaire, traditional but not rigid.

East Coast Conference. The East Coast Conference is a multi-cultural communion of Evangelical Covenant congregations to carry out our missions to the peoples in twelve east coast states and the District of Columbia: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, eastern New York, New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia.

Our Biblical Mission

Our Biblical Mission. We are united by Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit to obey the great commandment to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Our Core Values

A Relationship with God. God wants to be in a relationship with each of us. When we place our trust in God, He is ever-present with us both in times of stress and in times of joy. God’s power through the Holy Spirit fills us with peace and hope that carries us through difficult times.

The Promise of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and His resurrection gives us the hope of eternal life. We strive to live our lives in a way that pleases Jesus.

The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives in us to help us to understand spiritual truth and guide us in how we live our lives.

Pray with Expectation. Prayer is our daily conversation with God. We pray with expectation, seeking God’s wisdom, mercy, grace and peace.

Compassion and Caring. We are God’s hands and feet in our broken world. We bring God’s message of hope and love in our Church, our community and our world.
